This was nice evening and we will be going again soon, since they serve B,L and D daily. For desert we shared a slice of coconut cream pie, it was very good but nothing compares to the pie at Blue Bonnet Cafe, Marble Falls, Tx. Ashley said they weren't told they were coming but they could handle it with no problem. We dodged a bullet by arriving when we did, because about 1/2 way thru our meal an unannounced tour bus arrived with about 45 hungry diners. Portions are large, and in most cases I suspect could be shared. Dinner rolls were hot and right out of the oven. Everything was served at the same and was nice and hot. The wife chose chicken friend chicken without the gravy, also served with veggies and the potato casserole. This was much like a loaded baked potato without the potato skin and it was delicious. I opted for the server recommended cheesy potato casserole. A good mix of beef, rice, onions and spices in a tasty tomato sauce. The cabbage rolls (2) were very good and nice sized. I also had tomato basil soup instead of salad. I ordered the evening blackboard special again - cabbage rolls with choice of potato, veggies and rolls. I opted for the blackboard special "Maple Whiskey Sour" which was ok, but nothing special, wife always has water with lemon. Server Ashley presented the menus and asked for drink order. We were greeted at the door and given seating options. I think we arrived about 6:00 on a weekday, found a parking place close and head inside. So the wife and I headed to MLD, which isn't to far from our home. I'd read the nice reviews and was looking to go somewhere new for dinner.
